About the Kelly Kettle Trekker
The Kelly Kettle Trekker stainless steel camp kettle boils approximately 20 oz of water at a time – that’s about three 6 oz. mugs of water for camp coffee, tea or hot cocoa. The small Trekker Kelly Kettle will bring water to a boil within a matter of minutes. Perfect lightweight camping kettle for 1-2 people, trekking, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, picnics, fishing. The trekker kettles are ideal for emergency preparedness kits, humanitarian aid stations, or anyone working in the forests or the great outdoors.
Fire base and drawstring carrying bag are included with each Kelly Kettle. The durable stainless steel Firebase inverts up into the bottom of the kettle to make the unit as compact as possible for transport and storage.
The Green Whistle has replaced the Orange stopper on the Kettles and will sound a nice loud whistle to let you know when the water has boiled. Older Kelly Kettles may have an Orange Rubber or Cork Stopper. These MUST ALWAYS be removed before using the kettle. The Kettle must never be boiled with these older stoppers in the spout, but the new camping kettle with whistle can be left in while the water is boiling.

Boil water and cook food at the same time using only a handful of natural fuel!
Better yet, grab a Kelly Kettle Hobo Stove accessory and turn the Firebase of your kettle into a stand alone wood-fueled camping stove. See our Stainless Steel Kit offerings for best value on Kelly Kettle and all the accessories.
Remember: The Kettle has been designed to boil water extremely fast in all weather conditions using very little fuel. When filled with water, the Kelly Kettle should always be carried upright to avoid any spillage/leakage from the water spout or chimney top.
Kelly Kettle users have described their kettles as the “Greatest Invention of all Time”.

It heats water very efficiently; burning anything that will give a flame. This will boil water in pretty much any kind of weather providing the fuel is dry. The stronger the gale, the faster the burn, and the design allows very little rain to interfere no matter how stormy the weather. If you want a hot drink while on the wild side, this is the kit you need.

While it doesn’t boil much, a pint or so at a time, the space and weight make up for it in speed. Use the base since that is where you get your airflow. Once I used that we made hot drinks and water for soup for 4 people, so no one was waiting more than 4 minutes for water. So a large group can use this as well as a small group. A bit of a trick I came up with is your first boil use a bit larger stick, say marker size so there is a bed of coals once you get a boil. I used homemade cotton and wax fire starkers and they work fine. Use small sticks, and I mean small pencil size or less. They will boil water in a few minutes. Serve water, refill and add small sticks to your fire, blow gentle until you see flames, repeat if more water is needed. You can once done, use the coals for a campfire or simply let die. Just be careful to grab from the sides, since the flames and heat come right out the top. Watch videos of how to use this. It was worth getting and I am sure it will get a lot of us this winter for hot drinks in cold weather.

Awesome! I own a base camp Kelly Kettle SS. It works very well but it is too large to carry in a packsack, so l purchased the smallest Kelly K made. The Trecker is even better built quality than my base camp. Both kettles are very easy to use and boil water very quickly. I highly recommend this product.

It requires only bio-fuel to cook and build the fire. I am very excited about this product. It does not matter if the power is out or not. I can still cook. I can also cook in a dry camping situation.

I have had my stainless steel trekker for almost 5 years I always would carry it in my pack. It always worked great no matter what the conditions were. Unfortunately, my pack and beloved Trekker were stolen from my truck. Working on getting a new one. The moral of the story is well-built gear lasts.

A brilliant kettle. We have used it endlessly in Europe and a few twigs later you have two cups of boiling water. Works best in the wind! We use a small chip of firestarter to get it going quickly and you have to be very careful about putting the flames out to avoid fires. A great buy.

Great tool for improving your time in the wilderness. Absolutely great. Used it for a trip in the Mojave desert, it was reasonably quick to set up, easy, and provided hot water in the worst of conditions. Hands down the best part of the day.

Can’t go hiking or camping without it! The only time I’ve struggled is camping on some boggy moors where there was the only heath that burned too poorly to really get things going, but otherwise, it’s amazing how quickly this boils a kettleful of water on a handful of twigs!

The Kelly Kettle is a remarkable stove and one that deserves some special attention. I’ve owned mine now for nearly one year and it’s seen action in all 4 seasons, rain and wind. All of its use has been for backpacking purposes as opposed to car camping, so this review is geared towards backpacking performance. Because the Kelly Kettle operates on whatever fuel you have at your disposal, its performance relies upon the region you plan on using it.

Great Personal Gear. Perfect size for me to enjoy my weekend hikes. Lightweight, no fuel worries, just gather up some pine cones and twigs and no matter what the rainy Washington weather brings, I’m good to go with my Kelly Kettle.
