The Trekker is the smallest size Kelly Kettle. The 20 oz Kettle, Cook Set and Pot Support fit neatly together into their own drawstring carrying bag which can be put into or carried hanging from a rucksack or backpack.

The Kelly Kettle Trekker Basic Kit is a highly efficient outdoor camping kit suitable for hiking, backpacking, climbing, car camping, kayaking. A vital piece of gear for wilderness survival kits / disaster kits.

Introducing a Camping Kettle with Whistle

A green whistle has replaced the orange stopper on the Kettles and will sound a nice loud whistle to let you know when the water has boiled. Older Kelly Kettles may have an Orange Rubber or Cork Stopper. These MUST ALWAYS be removed before using the kettle. The Kettle must never be boiled with the older stoppers in the spout, but the new GREEN camping kettle with whistle can be left in while the water is boiling.

Best Camping Kettle in Bad Weather

All Kelly Kettle products are the best kettle for camping as they work extremely well in stormy weather conditions. They are a vital piece of camping equipment for any outdoor adventure. Extremely dependable as they have no moving parts to fail or break.

Burn All Natural Fuel

Never pack fuel again and save money. Kelly Kettles are cost free to run and eco-friendly, as they use all natural fuel such as twigs, dry grass, heather, birch bark, pine cones, dry animal dung, etc. Remember: The Kettle has been designed to boil water extremely fast in all weather conditions using very little fuel. When filled with water, the Kelly Kettle should always be carried upright to avoid any spillage/leakage from the water spout or chimney top.

Kelly Kettle users have described their kettles as the “Greatest Invention of all Time”.

Ultimate Kits are absolutely the best value when purchasing Kelly Kettle products!

Note: The fire bases invert partially up into the bottom of our Kelly Kettles to make the unit as compact as possible for transporting and storage. Normally, the fire base will not invert fully up into the kettle. This is particularly evident with the Medium size Kelly Kettle. Never force the inverted base up into the Kelly Kettle to try and achieve a “Perfect Fit.” This may cause damage to your Kelly Kettle or result in the base becoming stuck within the kettle.

If more hot water is required (this kettle will easily boil water quickly for a party of 10-12 people), simply refill the kettle and place it back on the fire base and refuel the chimney again. The kettle will be boiled again within a matter of minutes where water can be used for more hot drinks, boil-in-the-bag, bathing, washing up, etc.

Excellent portable camp/survival stove! Would be better if the capacity was larger for its size. I bought this after two years of wanting one – it was the last item I needed to complete my 96-hour bugout bag. It’s the smallest of the Kelly Kettles. I bought this one in particular because it could fit within my 27L Tactical Assault Pack. It is a quality piece that should last as long as it’s taken care of (by taken care of I mean not dented and abused). I chose stainless over the aluminum because I figured it would hold up a bit better than the aluminum as far as use goes. I highly advise anyone new to using a stove like this to use it before you go out camping or intend to use it for survival. It took me a minute to figure out how to package all the accessories into the sack it comes with to minimize clanging and banging. I also had to peel the protective blue wrap off the pot supports – something you don’t want to do when you are hungry or in a hurry to eat! It also took me about 5 minutes to stoke a fire to start boiling water but that was mostly my error. Putting the right materials to start a fire is essential, but supply air into the holes by adjusting so the holes are pointed towards the wind is even more important. It was because of this that I had my fire fizzle – but because of the good design, I added more fuel (small twigs and dry grass) down the chimney, adjusted the air holes, and voila! After the fire was roaring, it took all of maybe 2-3 minutes to boil the 19oz of water it holds. With that said, if you buy this model, you’ll notice that the chimney is awfully wide. This may ensure good airflow to work under “the most extreme conditions” (as KK puts it) but it seems that it could be a bit smaller to accommodate more water capacity. Without actually doing the math, I’m sure just reducing the (inside) diameter 1/2″ would double the water capacity. But again, if you want or need a small stove for camping or survival, this is it! Don’t plan on this thing supplying food/water to more than two people – you’ll be better off buying the Scout or Base Camp models (if you can allow the extra 3″ diameter and 2-3″ in height) so you aren’t stuck in one place too long.

Great little backpack item. I bought the smallest one, which was ok for one person, but I think I would’ve preferred the next size up now. I took this to Haiti as we went up into the mountains. It boils water pretty quickly. There is a little bit of a learning curve with it, i.e. how much grass/leaves to get it started, etc.

This size works well for two people and it fits into my hiking bag along with the rest of my stuff. There is a little extra space in the container when it’s all packed up so I like to stuff some powdered milk and instant coffee packets into some of the extra spaces. The carrying bag did tear fairly quickly after I bought the product which is why it has four stars but I like this product otherwise.
